Kyoungjin (Safi) Kang, MD, PhD
Publisher and founding editor of Journal of Cosmetic Medicine
Dear Respected Members and Readers,
How have you been?
Due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, all areas of the human world are busy with changes, resistance and adaptation to the pandemic, and be prepared for viruses and dangers that might come again in the future. While on the other side of the planet, war between peoples continues. On this earth where war and peace coexist, human's cosmetic desire to become beautiful has always developed together in the evolution and history of mankind and is still developing.
The development of modern medicine has rapidly extended human life, and it seems that human anti-aging desire has evolved further due to the extension of life. Therefore, stem cell research, which was very limited in the past, is playing a large and important role in the forefront of beauty needs as well as anti-aging health therapy of humans.
The Korean Society of Korean Cosmetic Surgery and medicine strives for academic development in the field of cosmetic and anti-aging procedures based on medicine, and strives to develop and improve surgical and non-surgical techniques. The results of these efforts are published in the Journal of Cosmetic Medicine.
The Journal of Cosmetic Medicine, which is in its 7th year this year, is evaluated to establish a foothold in the related field over a short period of time. However, in order to expand the scope of our journal and develop further, I think it is time to make more efforts to publish excellent papers through stem cell-based anti-aging and related cosmetic procedures and basic research that are related to cosmetic.
Thanks to dedicated efforts over the past 7 years, the Journal of Cosmetic Medicine is establishing its status as an international academic journal heading towards the global society, and the number of papers submitted by foreign researchers are increasing more than ever before. In addition, we are preparing to publish academic journals by commissioning editors and reviewers of various nationalities, and these efforts will serve as a sufficient foundation for this journal to play a leading role in the field of global aesthetic medicine.
Lastly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the editor-in-chief, editorial directors, editors, and colleagues who have submitted their papers with great enthusiasm until the publication of the Journal of Cosmetic Medicine Vol.7 No.1.
Thank you!
