Dear Members and subscribers of the Journal of Cosmetic Medicine,

Since its first publication in 2017, our journal has published the ninth issue. The Journal of Cosmetic Medicine will gradually strengthen its status as a reliable academic journal with the number of issues in two digits from the next issue.

It has been five years since the publication of the first issue. Recently, the journal website has been renewed, enabling video upload. Starting from the next issue, we are planning to oblige the video submission for the articles related to methods of surgery or treatment.

The most submitted articles so far are related to the medical field. However, the number of papers with complementary and convergence content of the cosmetic field and the medical field is still low. Thus, it is crucial for us to invite eminent editors and reviewers from the cosmetic field and related industries and to promote our journal to researchers in this field.

Over the past four years, I have been anxious and worried about the future rather than being excited. Journal of Cosmetic Medicine, which published the ninth issue, has accumulated history through all decent experiences and thus had gradually established a stable system. I would like to express my gratitude and respect to the editors, including the chief editors, the authors who submitted their thesis despite the challenging situation with COVID-19, and the editorial staff who have supported the reviewers with their dedication and hard work.

In particular, this year, there has been another evaluation for the candidate of the KCI registered journal. I would like to express my gratitude once again to the editorial committee and staff of the editorial office for working hard to improve the standards and improve various regulations to meet the qualification of the KCI registered journal.

Even if the meaning of the numbers is not that important, as the founding editor of this journal, it is meaningful that we are publishing the last single-digit number of issues containing the efforts and sacrifices over the past five years. Moreover, I am looking forward to publishing the 10th issue more successfully with even more improvements.
